Free while in beta

Screen Recorder Rocket is currently free — we take no payments and issue no licence keys. The Payments and Licence-keys sections below (4 and 5) therefore do not apply right now; they're kept for when paid plans return.

The short version

  • Your recordings never leave your device. Recording, editing and exporting all happen locally. Nothing is uploaded to us — we have no server that could receive them.
  • We collect no personal data through the app. No accounts, no tracking, no analytics, no advertising, no cookies for tracking.
  • No payments right now — the app is free during beta, so we don't collect any payment or order information.
  • Nothing is stored off your device. Any settings live only in your own browser.

1. Who we are

Screen Recorder Rocket ("the app", "we", "us") is a screen-recording tool that runs on your own computer, either in your browser or as a desktop application. You can reach us any time at support@screen-recorder-rocket.shop.

2. Your recordings

This is the part most people care about, so we'll be blunt: we never receive your recordings.

Everything the app does — capturing your screen, compositing cursor effects, generating the auto-zoom, trimming, resizing and encoding to MP4, WebM, GIF or MP3 — happens entirely on your own machine, using your browser's or your computer's own capabilities. Recorded video, audio, webcam footage and screenshots are held in memory or on your local disk and are written only where you choose to save them.

There is no upload step, no cloud processing and no "sync". We do not operate a server that stores user content.

3. What the app stores on your device

The app saves a small amount of information locally, in your browser's localStorage (or the desktop app's equivalent), purely so it can remember your setup between sessions. This never leaves your computer.

WhatWhy
Recording preferences (quality, format, frame rate, cursor style, effects, countdown)So the app opens with your settings instead of resetting each time.
Your license key, if paid plans return and you have oneSo the app knows it's activated. Not used while the app is free.

You can erase all of it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for the app, or by uninstalling the desktop app.

4. Payments

Not in effect while the app is free (beta). We currently take no payments and collect no payment or order information at all. The following describes how payments would be handled if paid plans return.

Purchases are processed by Stripe, an independent payment processor. When you buy a license:

Stripe handles your payment data as an independent controller under its own privacy policy, which we'd encourage you to read: stripe.com/privacy.

5. License keys

Not in effect while the app is free (beta). No licence keys are issued right now. This applies only if paid plans return.

After a successful purchase you're sent to a thank-you page that issues your license key. Your order reference may appear in that page's address so the same key can be reissued to you if you lose it. The key is validated on your own device — the app does not phone home to check it, and it works offline.

6. Analytics, cookies and tracking

We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, advertising networks, session recording, fingerprinting or third-party marketing cookies — on the website or in the app. We do not build profiles of visitors, and we do not sell or share personal information.

Like virtually all websites, our web host may keep short-lived technical server logs (for example IP address and browser type) for security and to keep the site running. These are not used to identify or track you.

7. Permissions the app asks for

To do its job, the app asks your operating system or browser for permission to access:

These permissions feed the recording on your device only. None of the resulting data is transmitted to us. You can revoke any of them at any time in your browser or operating system settings.

8. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

9. Your rights

Because we hold almost nothing about you, there is usually nothing for us to hand over or erase. Where we do hold order information supplied by Stripe, and depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the UK/EU or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to request access to it, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to its use. Email support@screen-recorder-rocket.shop and we'll deal with it.

We do not sell personal information, and we never have.

10. Data retention

Order records associated with a purchase are kept for as long as we're legally required to keep them for tax and accounting purposes, and then deleted. Everything else lives on your own device, under your control.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant — for instance if we ever started collecting something we don't collect today — we'll say so clearly rather than quietly editing the text.

Questions?

Email support@screen-recorder-rocket.shop and we'll get back to you.

Note: this policy describes how Screen Recorder Rocket actually works today. It is provided in good faith and is not legal advice. If you sell into regulated markets, it's worth having a lawyer review it against your specific setup.
